Aimpoint Micro Absolute Co-witness Mount

This is the absolute best mount for the Aimpoint micro.Another hit fom LaRue Tactical.

Love this mount, what I'd like now is a flip mount for the magnifier at this height.

Christmas 2013. My wife got this mount for me for my Vortex Sparc, and it went together smoothly and perfectly. Fit and finish are top notch. Given my experiences with other LaRue mounts, I know this one is going to repeat, repeat, repeat, just like the rest.

This review is for the VFZ version, which is less expensive and slightly less bulky than the quick-release model but requires a small closed-end wrench (supplied by LaRue) to detach. The mount is very strong, reasonably light and is a perfect match for the AimPoint H-1 Micro sight mounted on my Sig 516. Attachment to the AimPoint is simple and attachment to the picatinny rail even simpler. I haven't used locktite yet and I am not sure I need to. I shoot both Nato and civilian rounds through the Sig without this mount coming loose. The 5.56 round probably doesn't vibrate this mount very much, especially the piston guns like the Sig which seem to have even less felt recoil than the direct impingement ARs. Perhaps a 7.62 might offer the mount a little more challenge. LaRue says that the mount is for a semi-permanent installation, but I have no problem taking it on and off with the little wrench when I need to. I am not sure why one would need the quick release unless, of course, you routinely move between the red dot and another optic. If you change sights only occasionally, the VFZ model is probably all you need. This mount provides a true co-witness on the fold-down iron sights provided standard on the Sig 516. I prefer this alignment and so it is another plus for the mount as far as I am concerned. The finish on the mount is the same as the AimPoint and the Sig receiver. It looks like it is standard equipment on this rifle.

Well, what else can I say... This mount is perfect in every way! As a machinist and an owner firearms company myself, I must say that this work is as precision as it gets. Also, you have got to love LaRue's service! I order this mount Thursday morning, selected the cheapest shipping available ($6.95 Standard UPS) and literally had the mount in my hands 24 hours later on Friday morning. Oh, and they didn't just send me the mount. Also included was some of their Dillo Dust, two awesome bumper stickers, three pocket-Constitutions, some pamphlets, a DVD, and finally the one and only LaRue Tactical Beverage Entry tool! I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I wouldn't feel right without telling others of my excellent experience. This Mount IS BAD @$$, light weight and looks like you could break a door down with it. wish I would have bought it and the T-1 years ago... PS: LaRue send the coolest SWAG!, I have purchased things for them before and will again but it is always a suprise when they send Dilo dust and DVD's... makes you feel loved every time you open a LaRue package. I bought this for a Primary Arms red dot,an Aimpoint knock-off, and it is amazing how well it repeats. I have taken it on and off probably 50 or 60 times and it holds zero EVERY time. It is a pleasure doing business with LaRue, quick response and they are a TEXAS company. No matter what optics or accesories I have, all have LaRue mounts. Absolutely the best.
