If it's not excellent, LaRue won't sell it. These are hard plastic., go on easily, come off easily w/ the Dillo tool, and can be removed and installed many times without wearing them out. While not something I would wan't on my whole rail, they work great in combination with ladder rail covers. I use these on the first 5" of my 12" quad rail to form a hand guard, then have a vertical forgrip in front of that. Really makes the rifle feel excellent in the hand, giving the option of a comfortable horizontal grip, or vertical forgrip. And it makes for a great look as well.

Very comfortable on your hands. They lock on tight and with all the color choices, you can't go wrong .

These are lower profile than anything else I've seen out there for protecting a rail, they add very little bulk. As other reviewers mentioned, they are tough to clip on (your thumb will likely get sore) but once on there, they are on there, definitely not coming off short of using the Dillo Beverage Entry Tool to pop them off (or similar item). To install them, clip one side of the clip onto the rail then rock it over and clip the other side. Do NOT try just pushing them straight down the middle, you will wear yourself out. I have both the OD and FDE clips and the color is true to Magpul's stock colors. Also these clips allow for all kinds of rifle configurations while still protecting the rail. I love these clips and will be using them for all of my rail systems from here on out. That said, there are a few things you should be aware of. These clips are hard plastic and do not have any sort of rubberized coating. For those of you looking for a rubbery texture/"grippy" feel, look elsewhere. Also as you can tell from the pics, the clips will not protect the ends of your rails (obviously). Finally, these clips are not for repeated clipping into place and removing, so configure your rifle, set the clips and forget about it. If you love moving your crap around all the time, these are not for you. Thanks Larue for the Dillo Dust and beverage entry tool. Very impressed with these little guys. The only concern i had was that they would leave a mark on the gun metal when i removed them. No marks no scratches. They are perfect for protecting your rails and the color customizing is very nice. Im more than happy with the Purchase.

Wow, these index clips are outstanding. Work great covering that sharp edge on the rail. Only wish they made them in magpul's dark gray grips and stocks. Thank you LaRue Tactical!

I was looking at other rail covers until I saw these and had to give them a try. I'm glad I did as they fit great! Snug and tight, don't have to worry about them coming off at all. And as stated in other reviews, the Dillo tool works great for removing these. The rail on my bottom fore stock was digging into my fingers when shooting my rifle and these took care of that issue, actually giving me more grip! The only issue I have is, I wish we could order the lower hook and top keeper clips separately. I could use more but don't really want to order the whole set again to get them since I have plenty of the regular clips left. Thanks for all the goodies that was sent along with these. The Dillo dry rub tastes great and I can't wait to put it on some ribs for the BBQ! I'll definitely be a returning customer... Thanks again for a great product!

When put on, they stay put. Has a great look and feel without the bulky feeling you get from other rail guards.
